Visual on Indigenous Representation in Latin America

 Here is a visual on the extent of indigenous representation in the Américas by an organization established by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations in 1948 called la
Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe [or the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)] headquartered in Santiago, Chile.

As we very well know about the politics of enumeration in the U.S. and the chronic and pervasive undercounts of Latin@s with respect to the U.S. Census and all that this implies, these figures are also inescapably political/politicized, even as they are intended for public policy.  They nevertheless provide important data on just how numerous the indigeneous populations are in the Americas.
