This Should be in a Museum and NOT on a Wall at the Texas State Capitol

I had heard previously about this plaque located at the Texas State Capitol but had never actually seen it until today.  Here is a photo of the plaque, as well as the small hallway where it is situated which makes it really easy to miss.  Here's what it says:

CHILDREN OF THE CONFEDERACY CREED

Because we desire to perpetuate, in love and honor, the heroic deeds of those who enlisted in the confederate army, and upheld its flag though four years of war, we, the children of the South have united in an organization called "Children of the Confederacy," in which our strength, enthusiasm and love of justice can exert its influence.

We therefore pledge ourselves to preserve pure ideals: To honor our veterans; to study and teach the truths of history (one of the most important of which is that the war between the states was not a rebellion, nor was its underlying cause to sustain slavery), and to always act in a manner that will reflect honor upon our noble and patriotic ancestors.

Of course, this plaque can't even be put in a museum if no one can find it.  That's surely the point.  It's both there and not there.  Fake news?  Ancient fake news?  Still important ancient fake news?

You hardly ever see parenthetical comments on a plaque anywhere, by the way, unless it is referencing dates, usually a beginning and end date. 

So just as a piece of writing, it reads kinda' hoaky to me even as it reveals so much...

You can't make this stuff up!
