ACLU Online Video Training on Students’ Free Speech Rights TONIGHT

WHAT:
The American Civil Liberties Union will host a live online video training to educate students about their First Amendment rights in light of the surge of student protests following the Parkland school shooting.

Thousands of people from all 50 states have already registered to watch the training, which will be broadcast on YouTube Live.
The video session will cover various ways that students can speak out under the Constitution, including whether schools can discipline students for walkouts and other forms of political expression. The training is intended not only for students but also for parents, teachers, administrators, and anyone else who wants to support student engagement and free speech rights.
The ACLU has also created an online form for students to report on how their schools are responding to protests.
