The College of Education at The University of Texas Ranked Highly Again in the U.S. according to U.S. News and World Report

U.S. News and World Report has released its graduate school rankings for 2019. The College of Education at The University of Texas at Austin is ranked 10^th overall, up one place from last year, tied with University of Southern California (Rossier) and Northwestern University, and fourth among public universities. The college continues to be ranked third in research expenditures.

Says Interim Dean Sherry Field, “The college continues to be ranked one of the best public institutions of education in the country. We are proud of our exceptional and sustained performance among our peers. I thank our faculty and college family for creating an environment that produces cutting-edge, highly relevant scholarship that furthers the field of education and provides our students with the knowledge they need to become sought-after leaders in education.”

In addition to the college’s ranking, eight of the college’s departments, programs, and specialty areas also placed in the top 10 among publics, with several programs moving up in rankings.

Administration/Supervision: Second among publics, third overall (tied with Harvard University and Teachers College, Columbia University, and up from sixth overall last year)

Curriculum and Instruction: Fifth among publics, eighth overall

Education Policy: 10^th among publics, 15^th overall (tied with New York University--Steinhardt and University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign)

Educational Psychology: Fifth among publics, seventh overall (up one spot from last year)

Elementary Education: Ninth among publics, 12^th overall (moved into top 10 among publics)

Higher Education Administration: Ninth among publics, 15^th overall (moved into top 10 among publics)

Secondary Education: Seventh among publics, 10^th overall (moved into top 10 among publics and overall)

Special Education: Sixth among publics, seventh overall
