THE TEXAS HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IS HOLDING A HEARING ON K-12 STUDENT ASSESSMENT ON MAY 24, 2018

Dear Fellow Texans:

High-stakes testing is invalid and unfair.  This is different from assessment, a larger umbrella category the includes standardized testing.  There is no educational organization of any repute that supports the idea that high-stakes testing is valid and fair.  If you have the time, consider attending this hearing on May 24, 2018 either to be present in solidarity or to learn of alternatives.  They do exist.  It's painful to consider how severely our children have been harmed by this.  Let's stop harming children and consider not only more humane alternatives, but ones that encourage learning and student engagement.
