The Real Death Valley: The Untold Story of Mass Graves and Migrant Deaths in South Texas

It gets easier to understand how our country can brutally separate children from parents when it allows hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals to die of thirst as they weather the precarious conditions in their attempts to cross the U.S.-Mexico border because regular entry points are not viable.

This 2014 film tells a horrific, grisly tale that makes this part of South Texas in and around Falfurrias a huge graveyard. 

I provide helpful materials here for the college classroom an an opportunity to donate below to an important cause that may be muted by the other crisis to which we must also attend regarding family separation.

View this video in tandem with this June 16, 2014 read by Melissa del Bosque of the Texas Observer.  It's about Eddie Canales, a long-time civil rights activist and friend, who founded the South Texas Human Rights Center. 




Check out this related video from late January, 2018 out of Arizona that went viral.  
It shows a  border patrol agent emptying out jugs of water left for migrants crossing the deadly desert left by a humanitarian group that goes by the name, "No More Deaths."  

Afterwards, as you can read for yourself in this piece, an Arizona State University instructor and No More Deaths member, Scott Daniel Warren, who was arrested allegedly for smuggling undocumented immigrants at a water station in Ajo, Arizona, where NoMoreDeaths had enjoyed neutrality for their humanitarian work to date.  Warren's attorney maintains that the timing of this arrest is in retaliation for the video that went viral.

Eddie Canales has set up 150 water station for folks in S. Texas that are mostly left alone by border patrol agents.  Relatedly, also check out another 2018 interview of Eddie Canales on 60 Minutes.
