INVITATION: “Teaching Climate change and Environmental Justice” with Rethinking Schools' Bill Bigelow

In co-sponsorship with Luke Metzger and Environment Texas, we at the Texas Center for Education Policy invite you on Nov. 21, 2019, 8:30am-3:30pm to a seminar with Rethinking School’s Bill Bigelow titled, “Teaching Climate change and Environmental Justice,” on the third floor of the Sanchez Building located behind the Blanton Museum offof MLK in SZB 323

Breakfast and Lunch will be served. The door closes at 40 attendees that can attend the entire day.  Register here to attend.

As a side note, it's easy to sink one's head in the sand because the problem of climate change and environmental degradation is so vast.  Perhaps you've seen my deeply-concerning previous post this morning titled,

More than 11,000 scientists from around the world declare a ‘climate emergency’

That said, this workshop is not a "doom and gloom" session, but as Bill has indicated to me, will be fun and motivational for public school and university educators, community activists, policymakers, and students.  Hope you consider joining us.  Those who stay for the entire day will get a free book edited by Bill Bigelow and Tim Swinehart titled, A People's Curriculum for the EarthTeaching Climate Change and the Environmental Crisis.
