A Final Easter Reflection. On the Subject of Love and Trump's Performance at the National Prayer Breakfast

There is always so much circling around Trump that important things like what’s in this video can get overlooked when actually, these revealing moments may deserve equal parts of our attention.  Do view closely and listen to Donald Trump’s comportment at the National Prayer Breakfast that took place on February 6, 2020.

Trump not only manifests a diametrically opposite spirit in all 16 categories of love contained in the Bible's 'Love chapter" of 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8, but as Lawrence O'Donnell aptly observes, he can’t even fake just how annoyed he is.  Here are the characteristics of love.

4Love is patient (1), love is kind (2). It does not envy (3), it does not boast (4), it is not proud(5). 5It does not dishonor others (6), it is not self-seeking (7), it is not easily angered (8), it keeps no record of wrongs (9). 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth (10). 7It always protects (11), always trusts (12), always hopes (14), always perseveres (15). 8Love never fails (16).

Such beautiful words, words that he would surely "disagree with," based on his off-putting comments at the National Prayer Breakfast.

His ways of knowing and being in the world are not sustainable.  We must all vote and get this person who represents the antithesis of love, out of the White House.  Nothing could be more urgent.
