In light of Saturday's mass shooting in Arizona, we have much as a nation to reflect on—and most especially the incendiary and violent rhetoric that uses militaristic or violent symbolism in politics. With Texas facing an Arizona-like, anti-immigrant, pro-gun legislative session, my hopes are that yesterday's events will give us much pause and will discredit such voices and rhetoric in our own state.
