Dear Members of the 83rd Legislature:
On Monday, March 11 at 10AM in room E1.014, the House Committee on International Trade and Intergovernmental Affairs will hold a public hearing on the topic of Transnational Labor Flows and Commerce. I invite you to join us to hear invited testimony only from the following immigration policy experts:
Norman Adams, Texans for Sensible Immigration Policy (confirmed);
Eddie Aldrete, IBC Bank, Texas Employers for Immigration Reform (confirmed);
Brad Bailey, Executive Director, The Texas Immigration Solution (pending);
Julieta Garibay, United We Dream (confirmed);
Bill Hammond, President, Texas Association of Business (confirmed);
Tamar Jacoby, President & CEO, ImmigrationWorks USA (confirmed);
Peter Joseph, Executive Director, Association to Invest in the USA (confirmed);
Pia Orrenius, Assistant Vice President, Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas (pending); and
Gus Reyes, Baptist General Convention of Texas (confirmed).
Collectively, we need to recognize that our current system is broken. All piecemeal attempts at reform over the last twenty-five years have failed to create the kind of rational and effective system we need to maintain competitiveness, whether in an industry like agriculture, which requires large numbers of workers to be able to perform physically demanding tasks, or in technology, where the demand for employees with advanced degrees in math and science is projected to outstrip supply by 2018.
I hope that you can participate on Monday, whether it be in person, or via online broadcast. It is time that we discuss comprehensive immigration reform legislation, and en masse urge Congress to take action on the issue.
NICE BLOG!!! Education is the process of bringing desirable change into the behavior of human beings. It can also be defined as the “Process of imparting or acquiring knowledge or habits through instruction or study”. Thanks for sharing a nice information.
