BREAKING: The New Yorker Declares War on Trump With Explosive Story
April 26, 2017
The New Yorker magazine just declared war on Donald Trump by publishing the most blistering anti-Trump editorial we’ve seen yet. This is what resistance looks like folks, and this is the kind of tone we need to use in our own protests.
David Remnick, a legendary editor at The New Yorker, just kicked his patriotism into overdrive with his devastating takedown article “A Hundred Days of Trump.” This is must-read material for EVERYONE in the Resistance. Remnick potently highlights what we’ve feared all along. Trump is a literal danger to American democracy, and his tyranny will win out if the American people don’t come together to fight him totally. “The clownish veneer of Trumpism conceals its true danger,” Remnick writes. “Trump’s way of lying is not a joke; it is a strategy, a way of clouding our capacity to think, to live in a realm of truth.” “This is the brand that Trump has created for himself,” said Remnick. “That of an unprincipled, cocky, value-free con who will insult, stiff, or betray anyone to achieve his gaudiest purposes.” “For most people, the luxury of living in a relativity stable democracy is the luxury of not following politics with a nerve-raced constancy,” he said. “Trump does not afford this.” “His presidency has become the demoralizing daily obsession of anyone concerned with global security,” Remnick continued. “[With] the vitality of the natural world, the national health, constitutionalism, civil rights, criminal justice, a free press, science, public education, and the distinction between fact and its opposite.” “Insofar as he had political opinions, they were inconsistent and mainly another form of performance art, part of his talk-show patter,” Remnick said. “His contributions to political campaigns were unrelated to conviction; he gave solely to curry favor with those who could do his business some good. he believed in nothing.” “The task now is not merely to recognize this Presidency for the emergency it is, and to resist its assault on the principles of reality and the values of liberal democracy,” Remnick concluded. “[But also] to devise a future, to debate, to hear one another, to organize, to preserve and revive precious things.” Political pamphlets awoke American colonists to the tyranny of King George all those years ago. And it’s political pieces like Remnick’s epic anti-Trump takedown that will awaken the American people to the tyranny of Trump today. Let Remnick’s article be a reminder to us all that our voices are powerful and can make a difference. It’s going to take MILLIONS of Americans rising up together to oust the Orange Tyrant once and for all. Is Trump making America more dangerous? What’s your stance on Remnick’s piece? Do you agree that Trump is a tangible threat to American society itself? Don’t miss this opportunity to speak out and make your voice heard. The writing is on the wall: Trump is definitely going to be impeached for his violations against the people and the office of the presidency. However, the bad news is that Trump can still do a TON of damage between now and then. All across the nation Progressives have been answering the call to fight Trump, and our efforts have been working, so we have to follow Remnick’s lead and keep fighting. Let’s keep resisting until we’ve turned the nation BLUE in 2018, 2020, and beyond. No more complacency. Now’s the time for action. Please share this story on Facebook now!
