Why Texas doesn't have online voter registration

Online voter registration is what's increasingly the norm nationally, and it's more cost-effective than the paper system we currently have in place. Just think about it. Why aren't we already doing this as it would dramatically cut administrative costs to implement? Your guess is certainly the right answer. It supports voter suppression, helping to preserve the incumbencies of those in power.

As I've said before, Texas is not a red state. It's an oppressed one. This, too, will change, but as this piece shows, it's still an uphill climb.
