The Banned Books List for Arizona Ethnic Studies

I'm reading through this list of banned books from Arizona again. This occurred after the Arizona legislature passed HB 2281 that later got codified in statute as ARS 15-111 and 15-112. 

A lawsuit against this decision was filed in Arce et al. v. Douglas (previously Arce et al. v. Huppenthal).  It went to the 9th circuit and it has since made its way back to the Arizona district court where it will get heard again in Fall 2016.

   So I found this list of books that were banned from Tucson, Arizona schools when, in 2010, Arizona used a state law “to shut down the controversial classes that conservative legislators accused of politicizing Latino students.” The law has been declared illegal by a state court, upheld as constitutional by a federal court, and is now being appealed.
   The fact that Arizona doesn’t want kids reading these books was enough to make me curious.
