Latino professors confront ‘grotesque’ inequities at UT Austin

The Houston Chronicle has picked up on what's going on at the University of Texas at Austin among Hispanic/Latino faculty.  When we first moved to Austin and I started getting involved in the community, I quickly learned that the locals have a definite opinion about UT.  They would refer to our university as  "the plantation."  

While this has never been a good local discourse and perception regarding the university's posture toward the Latino community, the data and experience put forth by the Independent Equity Committee (shown below) support the view.
